Losing Your Hair – What To Do And What Not To Do

So you are starting to lose your hair. Here are some lessons that I learned when I started to lose my hair. First of all do not panic like I did. For it is not unusual for both men and women to start to lose their hair. In fact, over a hundred million people are in the process of losing their hair, in just the United States alone.

What To Do

Determine The Cause -There is several conditions that can cause hair loss. So the first thing to do is to determine the cause. There are many conditions that can cause temporary loss such as stress, certain medicines, pregnancy, hormone imbalance, sickness, diet, lack of nutrition, improper hair care and other causes.

Determine Solution – If your loss is temporary, correcting the cause will allow you to re-grow your hair. For example, if it is caused by stress, re-moving the source of the stress will cause your hair to stop falling out and allow you to re-grow the hair you lost.

Monitor Your Progression – Once you have implemented your solution, monitor your progress. When you are trying to recover hair from some condition that was temporary, your success rate should be 100%.

Cover Up- While you are re-growing your hair you can wear different hairstyles, scarves or hats to cover up your loss. Talk to your hair stylist about the different styles you can wear to cover your loss.

What Not To Do

Do Not Panic -Sure it can be emotionally unsettling when you first start losing your hair, but panicking is not the answer. You need to calmly perform the items I have listed under “what to do”.

Hair Loss Products – Do not jump on the first product you read about to stop your loss. For example, some shampoos claim to stop hair loss, but most do not. All they do is make your hair look fuller and do not stop hair loss.

Hair Care – Look at how you care for your hair. When you are trying to re-grow your hair and stop further hair loss, do not perm your hair to often. Do not swim in chlorinated water, use a cap and wash your hair right after swimming.

Conclusion -These is a few things you should do and not do when you determine you are losing your hair. Hopefully they are of some help to you.…

Healthy Eating Tips for Regular Travelers

It can be tough to eat healthy when you travel regularly, let alone stick to diet plan. If your work requires you to be frequently on the road, it’s not easy to prepare healthy options for meals and snacks. Also, trying to find favorable food options at a restaurant or convenience stop is always a challenge. If you spend the majority of your week away from home, here are a few strategies that you can try to keep you on track with your weight loss goals.
1. Make the grocery store your fast food stop. It’s pretty safe to assume that wherever you end up on your travels, you can find a supermarket instead of making a trip through the drive through. Most supermarkets have warm meal options that allow you to select from things like rotisserie chicken and grilled fish.
You can also pick up an assortment of fresh veggies and hummus from the salad bars. Eliminating fast food from your repertoire of meal choices will provide big wins when it comes to managing your waistline.
2. Do some research before you fly. Before you go away, get online and find the closest healthy weight loss food providers in the area. Places like sushi restaurants or Whole Foods are great options for fast and healthy meals. If you are really far outside an urban centre, try to find a major supermarket so you can use the tips I gave you strategy #1. The trick is to prepare. When you set yourself up for success you are less likely to make last minute choices based on poor food options.
3. Keep a cooler in your car. If you are on the road all day long, it’s relatively easy to prepare a small cooler and fill it with healthy food options to take with you. Foods such as hard boiled eggs, single serving cans of tuna, raw nuts, fresh fruits and veggies will keep well all day long, just be sure to include some ice packs and extra Tupperware containers. Sticking to a healthy weight loss diet means your need to keep yourself well hydrated. This is also a great way to keep bottled water cool and easily accessible which helps prevent you from grabbing a soda or high-sugar energy drink next time you stop for gas.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle no matter what your schedule looks like you have to make sure that you are making smart choices first. You can still have a great time eating away from home, just as long as your remember to not to let the healthy weight loss foods go out the window.
Bon Voyage!…

Curly Hair: How to Care for the Curls

Curly hair can be a beautiful asset, but it takes many of us years to figure out just what kinds of products, styles, and services work best for us. Some curly hair tends to be more frizzy than most, some curls are bigger and softer, both requiring different techniques. As you choose products and services for your hair with curls, keep in mind the guiding principal: if it works for you, if you like it, if your hair feels good, then keep doing it. If you are dissatisfied, consider these tips.
Shampoo
There are certain shampoos and conditioners specifically designed for curly hair. These might be great options for you and are a good place to start if you have curly hair and if you are dissatisfied with your current shampoo. Find shampoo designed for curly hair at a local hair salon. The Bumble and Bumble line of products offers good options.
Do plan to clarify your hair at least twice each month. A clarifying shampoo will remove build-up from your hair caused by conditioner, other hair products, or even hard water. You may find your own shampoo has not been working well for you. Remove the build-up and you will begin to love your shampoo again.
After clarifying your hair, be sure to condition it well. The clarifying shampoo strips out all of your previous conditioners. Conditioner will add moisture back to your hair. Hair with curls tends to be dry hair and this moisture is critical.
You will find your hair cleaner and shinier after clarifying it. The curl will spring back up and provide a nice bounce.
Curl defining cream
Before styling your hair, try a curl defining cream that will help give your curls a soft look, not that “crispy” look that bothers most people. Ask at your local salon for their recommended curl defining cream and give it a try. It may work well for you.
Blow dry or drip dry
Depending on your hair and your circumstances, you may choose to blow dry your hair or you may let it dry on its own. If your hair tends to get “frizzy,” you may not want to blow dry it at all, but you certainly do not want to blow dry it entirely.
If you do blow dry your hair, use a blow dryer with a diffuser. A diffuser is a flat attachment to the blow dryer that makes the hot air come out over a larger service area. A traditional blow drier focuses the heat on a two-inch area of your hair whereas a diffuser may expand that area to six or more inches, with less targeting of heat on any one part. A diffuser reduces the pressure in the blow dryer so that it does not blow the curl out. In fact, a regular hair dryer is a tool people use to straighten their hair, not to complement their curl.
Cuts and color
In getting your curly hair cut, a little goes a long way. Be conservative about cutting the length of your hair. If you ask your stylist to remove a lot of length, you may be surprised to find that when that curl springs back up, your hair is a lot shorter than you bargained for. You should also consider layers — they are usually the answer in springing your curl back.
Of course, depending on length and texture of hair, be cautious about heavy layers around your face — you can end up with “dog ears” that take a while to grow out. This is a common mistake of stylists who are not used to cutting curly hair.
Even with color, you will run into problems if the stylist has not worked with curly hair (or if you are attempting to color your own hair). Small to medium-sized highlights work well in defining the curl, but if highlights are too chunky, your hair will look clumpy. You will not be satisfied with your look.
Consult an expert
There is no specific blueprint for curly hair — curly hair presents with a lot of variations. If you find yourself frustrated with your own curly hair, find a stylist who specializes in curly hair, particularly one with curly hair herself. You will cut through a lot of the trial and error process and end up with a system that works for you.…

Your Hair Is Dirty and It Smells – Tips on Hair Cleanliness and Care

Your hair is dirty and it smells! These are words you never want to hear – especially if you’re female.
Let’s focus on cleanliness of your hair because there’s more to it than you think. Firstly, shampooing. Choose a good shampoo. How do you know a good one? Well, put it this way, it costs around 1 GBP for a bottle of liquid that will clean your dishes so don’t you think you owe it to your hair to pay a bit more! Ask your Stylist which shampoo might suit your hair best.
Once you have selected a good and suitable Shampoo.. don’t spend very long shampooing the hair. If you leave shampoo lather on hair it will cause it to go dry so, remember, get a move on.
Next, Conditioner. Don’t overdo it with the Conditioner. Stick to the instructions on the bottle. If you find your hair is going lank, oily, limp, lifeless or looking dull.. you have the wrong Conditioner for your hair or you are using too much.
You know, finding the perfect product for your hair is a case of trial and error. Bear in mind though, your hair is always going through changes so once you’ve found suitable products, every now and then use a different range.
Rinsing is so important too. Rinse well but handle the hair gently whilst doing it. The times I have seen friends rinse their hair and then do all kinds of squeezing, dragging, rubbing (yes rubbing!) with a towel all of the above is mistreatment of hair and isn’t recommended.
So to recap. Decent products, quick shampoo, rinse well, apply Conditioner (as directed) and rinse, rinse, rinse. Don’t have the water too hot and depending on the type of hair we sometimes recommend that you give a final rinse in TEPID – COLD water, this does have a sealing effect on the hair shaft.…

Excellent Advice For Keeping Up A Good Level Of Fitness

Did you find it hard to get out of bed today? Do you feel tired and sluggish? There’s a chance you aren’t getting enough exercise and taking care of your fitness needs. Getting fit gives you more energy and makes you think clearer in addition to all the physical benefits it provides. Here are a few ways to put fitness first so you feel better.

Do not think of the process of getting fit as a short-term exercise with a cut-off date. Fitness is a long-term commitment. In fact, it should be a permanent one. When building a fitness routine consider not just the immediate benefits but whether or not the routine is one that can be sustained indefinitely. Fitness is for life, not just for bikini season.

Finding time in your life for exercise can prove to be challenging. A great way to accomplish this is to find something you love and turn that into your exercise regime. Playing sports, riding bikes, or even a park date with your children can be great ways to get in that daily exercise. You will always find the time to do things that you love!

When you are running up hills, make sure to lean forward slightly, keep your head up and focus your eyes on the top of the hill. This helps to keep your airways open instead of closing them off as you would if you were hunched over. Keep your eyes on the goal ahead and you’ll clear it in no time.

Building your forearm strength is super easy. If you play tennis or raquetball a strong forearm is a benefit which will help improve your game. You can build your forearm strength by crumpling a newspaper. Lay a piece of newspaper on the floor, crumple it up into a ball for thirty seconds, and then repeat with the other hand.

Fitness

When selecting a fitness routine, don’t fall for gimmicks that say you can lose weight or build muscle without needing to work hard. The whole point of a fitness program is to work hard. Pick a workout routine that fits with your schedule and is difficult enough to challenge you without resulting in injury.

For maximum fitness results a healthy diet needs to be combined with an exercise program. The two processes are mutually complementary. Eating well helps you work out better; working out encourages you to eat better. When you make sure to address both areas simultaneously you will find yourself getting fit much faster.

Good Health

Relaxation is key to keeping good health and fitness. Sure you might exercise and eat healthy and maintain all of those things to keep your nice figure, but if you don’t give your mind and body a rest, it will become unhealthy and other things will begin to fail as well. A massage is a great way to relax and also give your body and muscles the reward they deserve for following such a strict regimen.

Fitness is about more than big muscles. It’s about getting healthy and setting a healthy example. The more fit you are, the better you feel and the stronger you are. Follow these tips and get fitter and you’ll know these things to be true. A fit body feels better and that’s the truth.…
