Acid Reflux Diet and GERD Diet Natural Cures There are several things to consider when changing your diet to help prevent your acid reflux problems from reoccurring over and over again each day. First, looking at your acid reflux diet, look at how much you eat. This could all be a simple matter of how you are eating too much, especially before bed. The more you eat the more stomach acid your body needs to digest the food, and when your body produces too much acid it refluxes back into your esophagus. You often feel heartburn when this happens. A good way to avoid this is to eat smaller meals more often, that is good for both your digestion and maintaining a healthy weight. The next thing you should look at if you suffer from acid reflux is what you are eating. Sometimes it can be a combination of foods to high in fat, especially those that you get from the all popular fast food restaurants, will increase our stomachs acid production. Keep in mind that no matter how healthy you are eating, if you eat too much you will probably have a recurrence of acid reflux. You should also remember that eating foods that are spicy or acidic fruit will not make things worse, unless you eat a ton of them at one time. Next you should watch your alcohol intake. Alcohol, especially beer, greatly increases your stomach acids and makes things much worse. You don’t necessarily have to avoid it at all costs, but you do need to limit yourself when you do drink. When you do go to eat, some foods that will help you from having acid reflux problems later are high in complex carbohydrates. This includes things such as breads, pasta, and rice. These work because the extra acid that your stomach produces is used to work on breaking them down instead of refluxing. In Acid reflux diet there are other things, like posture when you eat, after you eat, and when you sleep that have an effect on your acid reflux as well. When your eating, and for about 45 minutes after you have finished you should sit in an upright position. When you go to sleep at night, it helps to keep your head elevated about 6 inches above the rest of your body. There are other things that you can do to help. To find them you simply have to look and talk to a doctor. Your doctor can help you decide what approach is best to treat your acid reflux.
